While Jesus is lying in the tomb, Jewish Zealots, intent on freeing Israel from Roman tyranny, try to convince the disciples to join their cause. However, the disciples refuse. Such an event is never recorded anywhere in Scripture and is clearly an example of artistic license in introducing the Zealots and their cause.
Helstrom season 1, episode 1 is a satisfactory opening to the series that seems to enjoy that the siblings are at opposite ends of the spectrum as it slowly builds a story that involves a growing evil in the world.
Ana heads to the same crypt where the incident happened. When she enters the tomb, a man shows her the tomb and the blood and gore of the victims on the floor. She checks out the tomb while quipping jokes. Ana and the man wonder if this is a regeneration. When Ana tries to use her powers to get a feeling of the place she cannot sense anything but then she feels something as she looks at the skull. She grabs the skull and walks off.
Another supernatural revelation occurs when Elena's friend Bonnie Bennett discovers she is born into a line of witches and is a witch herself. She gets help from her grandmother to use her powers. Elena's friends and acquaintances also become involved such as Tyler Lockwood, son of the mayor, and Matt Donovan, Elena's ex-boyfriend and Caroline Forbes, daughter of the sheriff. It also turns out that Elena is the doppelganger of Katherine Pierce, a woman who, centuries ago, seduced the Salvatore brothers and turned them into vampires, turning their vampire hunting father against them, though Stefan ends up killing him. Katherine was presumably trapped in a tomb beneath the church and Damon is planning on releasing her. Lexi, a friend of Stefan's shows up and befriends Elena, but is killed by Damon, driving a wedge between brothers.
At one point, Damon finds the tomb under the church, and has Bonnie and her grandmother help open it to find Katherine. During the search, a number of vampires escape, and it is discovered Katherine already escaped long ago. The tomb vampires are led by a female vampire named Pearl and her daughter Anna. Bonnie's grand mother dies and Bonnie begins to resent vampires. It also turns out a group called the Founder's Council know of the vampires and wish to kill them. The council is led by Tyler's abusive father, Richard Lockwood. Caroline's mother, Sheriff Elizabeth Forbes is also a member, despite being friends with Damon, unknown that he is a vampire. Anna also starts a relationship with Jeremy. Jenna also starts dating a man named Logan, who cheated on her in the past. Soon, Logan is turned into a vampire by Anna, and is killed by Alaric, who tells her he left town. From that point Jenna starts dating Alaric.
Many critics felt that the series improved with each episode. Sarah Hughes of The Independent says The Vampire Diaries turns into "a well-crafted, interestingly developed series" despite a poor opening episode.[33] The New York Post also praised the portrayal of Elena, finding the character to be a strong-minded woman who doesn't allow her feelings for her boyfriend to control her.[34] The San Diego Union-Tribune said: "The supernatural drama is a first-class production, featuring an insanely gorgeous cast, sharp scripts and a brooding vibe that is hard for even the most levelheaded adult to resist."[35] Mike Hale of The New York Times gave the series an honorable mention on his list of the top TV shows of 2009.[36]
Throughout this season 54+ people or vampires were killed, and assuming all of the tomb vampires died, the total amount comes out to 74+. Most of the deaths were in the present, but there were a few that took place in 1864 during flashbacks and they were included in the total, but will be distinguished from present day deaths. The death of a vampire could be counted twice if their human death also appeared in the present or past. How many times Elena and others were saved whether it was by themselves or by another person will also be noted. Also noted will be the villain of the episode if any. A villain will be considered a killer who killed unjustifiably.
Afterward, Stefan returned to the quarry to see Damon with a young girl accompanying him. Not wanting to be a vampire without his brother, Stefan convinced Damon to feed on the girl and become a vampire as well. In the present day, Henry, a tomb vampire, was also killed when Damon and Alaric visited his apartment looking for Isobel. Pearl and Harper also both get staked by John Gilbert.
I watch this show religiously and really look forward to the opening and closing thoughts. I thought the poem that was read by JJ was just beautiful and I think I will have it framed and send it to my son.

Pilot is the first episode of the CBS series, Ghost Whisperer, originally premiering on September 23, 2005. The episode was written and directed by John Gray, and opened to 11.25 million viewers.
Melinda's story starts as she walks into a funeral holding hands with her Grandmother as a young girl. They walk down the center towards the front until they stop and Melinda's grandmother whisperers in her ear to sit down next to a man who they are to help. Melinda nods and sits next to an old man. He stares at her and she stares back briefly, until Melinda's Grandmother returns to her. Melinda stands up and takes her Grandmother's hand and stands up, walking to the front and stops at an open coffin. The body inside is that of the old man she had just sat next to. She looks back at the ghost of the man, her face displaying shock and confusion. She looks up at her Grandmother, who assures her that it's alright. The old man walks towards them and talks to Melinda, telling her that Melinda and her Grandmother are the only people who can see him and asks for her help. Melinda raises her shoulders unsurely. He tells her that the woman mourning is his wife of 26 years, and that he didn't have time to say goodbye to her. He needs Melinda to tell her a message that he loves her, and Melinda asks how she would know it's from him. He leans over and whispers in her ear and whispers exactly what she would need to say in order for his wife to believe the message is from him. She listens atentively, still confused as to what is happening.
The following day, Melinda is driving through the small but beautiful town of Grandview, on her way to her newly opened Antique Shop, 'Same As It Never Was'. Melinda walks in and greets Andrea. It is revealed that Melinda is Andrea's boss in the shop. Andrea tells her she can't be in today, but Melinda assures her its only until Jim is finished with the surprise for her. Melinda comes across various Latin books, all of which are Andrea's as she is attempting to learn the language. She is appealed by it because no one speaks it anymore. Melinda and Andrea talk, Melinda telling her that the surprise is to make up for her not getting a honeymoon with him. Melinda soon comes across a compass that neither Melinda or Andrea brought in, however Melinda had seen it before, or something like it. It's now night time, and Jim is carrying a blind-folded Melinda down a deserted road. Jim almost drops Melinda and they both laugh. Jim is carrying her to their new home, a one that is still being worked on, and are planning their first night there. Jim removes Melinda's blind-fold and reveals the house to her, that seemingly looks like it is falling apart. Despite this, Melinda loves it and hugs Jim for it. Jim had been working extremely hard on fixing it up for them both to live in it and Melinda is very grateful. They kiss as Jim carries her to the door. That same night, Melinda wakes up suddenly while in bed. Jim wakes up also. He already knows she had a bad dream, showing their perfect connection as a couple. Melinda reveals that it was just the usual. Jim worries about Melinda, and enquires about her dream. Melinda is bagging a lot of other people's pain, not her own. They kiss as Jim goes back to bed and Melinda leaves the bedroom and goes into the bathroom. She brushes her teeth and bends down to spit, then looks back up to see the same compass drawn into the mist on her bathroom mirror. She hears a bang from outside the room and looks back at the mirror to find the compass gone. She goes to investigate the noise. She looks down the stairs to see the ghost of a sergeant walking up the stairs towards her. He gets too close for comfort and she gasps and runs backwards. Although looking like a scary ghost, he asks Melinda to help him. She looks away and looks back at the stairs, only to find that he isn't there anymore.
The following day, rain storms down on Grandview. Melinda and Andrea are together in Village Java drinking coffee and talking about the ghostly experience Melinda had that night. It's revealed that Melinda has never had a ghost in her house before. Andrea enquires whether there's a difference between spirits in the house to spirits on the streets, but Melinda tells her they are all the same earthbound spirits, just some are stuck on earth longer than others. Andrea asks if there are any spirits in the store they are in, and Melinda tells her there are two- an older woman sitting next to a man with a laptop, assuming her to be his mother. The other ghost is an older man shouting at another man in spanish, who is making an esprasso. He doesn't understand why his son can't hear him. Andrea asks if Village Java is haunted, but Melinda corrects her by saying that people are haunted, not places. Andrea shows an enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge about ghosts, finding them interesting. The ghost Melinda is being haunted by is lost. That night, thunder cracks and lightning strikes as Melinda suddenly wakes up. She puts her arm out to feel for Jim, but he isn't there. She gets up to look for him and walks down the stairs. She calls for Jim, but he doesn't answer. She goes through some see-through sheets hanging down from the cieling, just as the shadow of the ghost walks past which Melinda doesn't realize. She looks out of the window to see a hooded man climb the ladders at the side of the house. Shocked, Melinda walks towards the window to get a closer look, realizing it is Jim. She opens the window, only to have it fall off in her hands. She asks what he is doing and he tells her that the wind blew something off and that he was tying it back on. He tells her to go back to bed and he will be inside in a minute. Melinda tells him to be careful and turns around, the ghost standing directly in front of her, giving her a freight. Melinda backs away as he comes closer, telling her that he doesn't know where he is and that he needs Melinda's help, and that 'they' told him that she could. She asks who told him, but he doesn't know. She tells him he can't be at her home, but he begs her, telling her that he needs to go home as his wife is pregnant and she doesn't know where he is. Melinda asks what he sees around him, and he answers that he sees a valley. Melinda tells him she doesn't know if she can help him, but asks his name, to which he replies is Paul Adams, a sergeant. He then disappears in a flash. 781b155fdc
